COACH Kids seeks mentors

The holiday season is a time of giving and dozens of children in Clinton County await one of the greatest gifts of all: An adult mentor to listen to them, encourage and guide them and spend time with them.

Mentors can serve in a variety of capacities – at school and/or outside of school.

Resolve that 2018 will be the year you volunteer to help a child become a quality adult.

If you can give some of your time, attention and compassion to help these kids, contact COACH Kids at 554 W. Walnut St., Frankfort, IN 46041; phone: 765-654-8812; email: coach.kids@att.net.

Mulberry food pantry accepting donations

The Stone Soup Food Pantry of Mulberry is accepting non-perishable foodstuffs. The pantry is run jointly by Mulberry United Methodist, Trinity Church and Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, and is housed in the Faye Snider Senior Center.

Donations can be made year round at boxes located at the Mulberry library, Town Hall, Mulberry Telecommunications and The Farmers Bank.

The pantry is open for Madison Township residents or members of the three churches from 4-6 p.m. the third Monday, and 9-11 a.m. the third Tuesday of the month.

Salvation Army looking for donations, volunteers

The Salvation Army always welcomes donations and volunteers to fulfill its mission of helping those who most need help. Currently, donations sought include food staples, especially canned fruit, men’s and women’s razors, deodorant, shampoo and other personal hygiene products.

Volunteers, especially younger people who can help pick up and move furniture, are needed for all shifts. You can work as little as a few hours per week, depending on your scheduling, helping to sort, stock and do other tasks in our Thrift Shop and Food Pantry. To donate or volunteer, bring money or items to the Salvation Army store at 300 W. Washington St., Frankfort, or call Edith Crews at 765-654-7896.
