The Clinton County Adult Literacy Program provides services that enable older youths & adults to acquire the basic skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking so they can solve problems encountered in their daily lives and participate fully in thier society. Volunteer

Volunteer Tutors Volunteers are needed to tutor learners to read or speak english on a one-to-one basis or in small groups. |

Jail Program The Clinton County Adult Literacy Progbram and the Frankfort Adult Learning Center jointly conduct a literacy and GED program at the Clinton County Jail for inmates wishing to learn to read, learn to speak English or acquire their GED. These classes are held twice per week with a licensed teacher and volunteer tutors work with the inmate students. During the last 2 years over 75 students have received their GED diplomas. Students may also learn to use the computer to study for their GED. | ||

Life Skills Classes Life skills classes are also conducted by volunteer trainers for the inmates at the Clinton County Jail. These classes cover behavioral issues, i.e. conflict resolution, anger control, goal setting, alcohol and drug abuse and developing self-esteem. | ||
