  Mission:
We are a Christian-based organization providing diversified services to the Hispanic Community of Clinton County and surrounding areas.


In 1988, "English as a Second Language" classes for Hispanic residents were offered at St. Matthew's United Methodist Church. In 1989 the Hispanic Community Services (H.C.S.), a private not-for-profit corporation was formed, and services were expanded H.C.S. is governed by a Board of Directors representing various segments of the community.

Hispanic Community Services is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to help Hispanic families. It provides food, shelter, transportation, education, language assistance and guidance to enhance life quality for 1000 or more Hispanic families in the Clinton County area. H.C.S. is open for 35 hours a week.

In order to better serve the Hispanic Community, the Board of Directors engaged in strategic planning in the fall of 1996. As a result, the following goals and objectives were established for 1996-1997.

959 persons served during 1996 - 338 persons served so far for 1997.


HISPANIC COMMUNITY SERVICES ACTION PLAN GOALS AND OBJECTIVES 1996-1997

1.     REFERRAL: We meet the basic needs of Hispanic Families through referrals.
2.     ADVOCACY: We value and provide advocacy services for just and fair equitable treatment of all people.
3.     TRANSLATION: We offer translation English/Spanish and Spanish/English to our Community.
4.     ASSISTANCE: We provide various forms of assistance to improve the quality of life for Hispanic families.
5.     EDUCATION: We appreciate our community's cultural diversity and promote the need to live together in peace and harmony.
