Young artists should mark Thursday, March 22, as the date for Frankfort Community Public Library’s fourth and final Visiting Artists Workshops presented especially for youth with an interest in the arts.

FCPL will host A League Entertainment, with Van Underwood Stokes, to teach students more about stunt performing and choreographing an action scene.

“This class will be open to students ages 8-18,” said Teen Services Manager Maggie Pinnick who has organized the four workshops.

The workshop will run from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in FCPL’s Room 219 on the second floor of the building.

“This event is free, but we do ask that students sign up online at myfcpl.org, and visit the teen area to fill out a liability form,” Pinnick said.

The other three workshop presented by FCPL featured Rusty Ammerman, from Connersville, teaching students how to be a magician; One Size Fits All, Lafayette’s longest-running improv group, providing tips on how to do improv comedy; and Usha Sirimalle from Arts for Learning, the Indiana Affiliate of Young Audiences, teaching a class on Bollywood style dancing and Indian culture.

“We have had a lot of fun at the previous workshops with lots of active participation,” said Pinnick.

The Visiting Artist Program has been made possible by the Tippecanoe Arts Federation through the sponsorship of The McAllister Foundation and support of the Indiana Arts Commission and National Endowment for the Arts.
