Multiple local athletes garner All-Conference honors

The Hoosier Heartland Conference released its all-conference teams and all-sports standings recently, and athletes from Clinton Prairie, Clinton Central and Rossville were recognized for their achievements over the course of the spring season.

Finishing first in the HHC All-Sports Standings for girls’ sports and second for boys’ sports, the Rossville Hornets had a strong season.

Earning All-HHC First Team honors for the Hornets were baseball players Dawson Jacoby, Nolan Starkey, Kelton Saylor and Evan Price; softball players Maggie Deboy, Cory Taylor and Emma Baumgardt; track and field athletes Sarah Allred, Julia Malson, Marissa Heath, Sam Malson, Morgan Fadness, Noah Spear, Brendan Medbourn, Braxton Good and Dexter Porsi; golfer Bryce Oliver and tennis players Anna Lawrence and Madison Struck.

Earning honorable mentions for Rossville were baseball players Corbin Beard and Adam Terrell; softball players Cassidy Underwood and Allison Hunter; and tennis players Samantha Haan, Micah Royer, Maddy Wade and Robin Blackwell.

The Clinton Prairie Gophers finished second in the girls’ all-sports standings and third in the boys’ all-sports standings.

Earning All-HHC First Team honors for the Gophers were baseball players Sam Schoonveld and Kam Peters; softball players Holly Loveless, Kylie Burris and Shalynn Barnett; track and field athletes Anna Albaugh, Alyssa Lukasik, Tatum Neal, Melody Tolley, Nicole Burke, Hailey Law, Carla Brewer, Bella Creasy, Adri Isaacs, Walter Martin and Jacob Hamilton; and golfers Braiden Fingerle and Grant McGraw.

Earning honorable mentions for the Gophers were baseball players Mason McGraw and Kaleb Peters; and softball players Peyton Ray and Layne Snyder.

The Clinton Central Bulldogs finished sixth in the girls’ all-sports standings and seventh in the boys’ all-sports standings.

Earning All-HHC First Team honors for the Bulldogs were baseball player JT Holton and softball players Kaylea Whitcomb and Kyleigh Carr.

Honorable mentions for the Bulldogs were earned by baseball players Jacob Hosteter and Brendan Smith; and softball players Cassie Jenkins and Baileigh Arnold.
