Lauretta M. McCullough

Lauretta M. McCullough, 71, of Frankfort and formerly of Walnut Grove, died Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette after a very sudden illness. She was born Oct. 27, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of Donald E. and Demmie-Ree (Smith) Carpenter.

Lauretta worked as a bank auditor at The Famers Bank in Frankfort for 15 years. She also formerly worked at Fallen Timber Daycare in Ohio and Geetingsville Presbyterian Nursery School. Lauretta was a 1964 graduate of Walnut Grove High School and graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. degree in psychology and child development. She married David G. McCullough on May 21, 1972, and they shared 46 years of marriage. Lauretta was a member of Geetingsville Presbyterian Church and also attended Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Master Gardener Club and the 49ers Home Extension Club. Lauretta loved the outdoors - gardening, hiking and traveling to several state parks. She also enjoyed reading. More than anything, Lauretta will be remembered for her love of her family and friends.

Lauretta’s family includes her husband of 46 years, David G. McCullough, of Frankfort, and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A life celebration memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church, 5490 N. State Road 39, Frankfort, with Lay Pastor Donna Enersen officiating. The family requests you to bring good memories to share. Arrangements were entrusted to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood.
