Ellis Jewelers nets new merchandise at national jewelry show

Michael Ellis and Andi Redmon from Ellis Jewelers recently attended the 2018 Retail Jewelers Organization (RJO) Summer Buying Show in Minneapolis, joining other top jewelers from around the country.

The three-day event, held semi-annually, gave jewelers the opportunity to learn about industry trends, network with other professional jewelers and share business ideas. This year’s show, themed Minneapolis Rockstars, also let jewelers purchase new items at pre-negotiated prices, including jewelry products exclusively available to RJO members.

Purchasing items at these prices allows jewelers to pass along the savings to their customers.

“I am always impressed by the vast selection of jewelry available at the RJO show,” said Ellis, “and having access to current and upcoming trends in jewelry is always beneficial.”

Ellis said the show provided a look at an array of new products and also provided attendees with marketing tips.

Among the continuing education courses offered were those on topics like leading the multi-generational workplace and leveraging social media.
