Rossville boys basketball beats North White

Rossville upped its record to 2-1 in boys basketball with a 64-55 win over host North White on Saturday.

Dawson Jacoby led the Hornets with 20 points, including hitting 6 of 7 3-pointers. Chase Frey added 16 for Rossville, with Dirk Shaw (nine), Damon Shaw (seven), Kirby Meeks (six) and Reid Douglas and Jesse Cornell (three each) finishing out the scoring for the Hornets.

Dirk Shaw pulled down 12 rebounds and handed out six assists in the contest while also blocking a shot. Meeks and Fry each had five rebounds, with Fry adding six assists. Fry and Damon Shaw led the team with two steals each.

The Hornets jumped out to a 29-15 lead against the Vikings in the first quarter and 44-25 at halftime.

Hot Dogs nipped by Twin Lakes

Frankfort lost 53-51 to Twin Lakes on Saturday in the seventh-place game of the Franciscan Hoosier Hoops Classic.

Casey Henry scored 25 points for the Hot Dogs. Jose Valdes Sandoval added 10, with other scoring coming from Kevin Wilkins (six), Jayce Moore (four) and Braden Compton and Trey Frazier (two each). Henry hit 7 of 10 3-pointers on the night.

Sandoval, Henry, Wilkins and Moore each had four rebounds to lead the team. Moore had four assists and three steals, while Valdez led the team with four steals (with an assist also). Henry and Wilkins each had three steals and two assists.

Frankfort led 13-11 and 22-20 after the first two quarters, with Twin Lakes taking control in the third quarter outscoring the Hot Dogs 19-10. Frankfort put on a late push with a 19-14 quarter to pressure Twin Lakes at the end.

The Hot Dogs (1-3) next host Tri-West in a conference game on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Gophers lose at Seeger

Clinton Prairie lost on the road to Seeger 64-57 on Saturday night.

The loss dropped the Gophers to 1-2 on the season, with Seeger improving to 2-0. Individual statistics were not made available for the game.

Prairie next visits Lafayette Central Catholic on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
