Clinton Central tops Tri-Central

Clinton Central beat host Tri-Central, 56-45, in girls basketball on Tuesday, with big first and fourth

quarters the difference in the game.

The Bulldogs led 19-10 after the first before Tri-Central cut the lead by five over the next two quarters.

Clinton Central responded with a 20-11 quarter to end and seal the game.

Kaylea Whitcomb led the Bulldogs with 22 points, with Jessica Akard and Kendall Davision chipping in 10

and eight respectively. Davison also had a team-leading 10 rebounds, while Akard had six and a team-

leading four assists. Akard and Whitcomb led the team with three steals each.

Gophers fall to Vikings

Clinton Prairie lost to host North White 47-40 on Tuesday in girls basketball. The loss dropped the

Gophers to 13-5 on the season.

Prairie trailed 14-10 after the first quarter and 19-15 at halftime. They cut into the lead with a 14-11

fourth quarter. Individual statistics were not available by press deadline.
