Clinton Central finished sixth and Frankfort eighth at last week's Zionsville girls swimming sectional ending Saturday, with county swimmers placing in the championship final and one Clinton Central school record falling.

“Brogan Sheets broke our school record in the 50 freestyle on Thursday night,” Central head coach Ken Jones noted. “All three of our relay teams placed in the finals. … The girls had 27 personal bests over the two days (with preliminaries on Thursday and finals on Saturday).”

Frankfort head coach Will Robbins called it a “great meet and season for the girls swimming and diving team,” as two Hot Dog relay teams placed during sectionals.

In the final Saturday, Sheets placed the highest individually for a county swimmer in the 50 freestyle, finishing fourth in 25.48 seconds (after setting the school record on Thursday at 25.27). Zionsville's Anna Firebraugh won the event in 24.73, with Sheets just .17 seconds off second place. Frankfort junior Patciance Dean finished eighth in 26.61.

Swimming power Zionsville dominated the meet, winning with 557 points far ahead of second-place Harrison (304). Lebanon (290), West Lafayette (229) and Lafayette Jefferson (184) were next, with Clinton Central (155), McCutcheon (154) and Frankfort (112) going sixth through eighth.
