Wayne Edwin 'Shorty' King Feb. 9, 1940 - March 7, 2019

Wayne Edwin ‘Shorty’ King, 79, of Chandler, Ariz., died March 7, 2019. He was born Feb. 9, 1940 in Thorntown, Indiana to Roscoe W. & Anna Mae (Walker) King. He was previously married to Mary Lou Alter and Debbie Baim.

Wayne was a graduate of Kirklin High School. A 20-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force retiring in 1979, he worked as a civilian contractor for the Air Force after his retirement. He was a member of the Scotland Christian Church, the Frankfort Moose Lodge, the Kirklin American Legion and the Elks in Chandler where he was Elk of the Year.

He is survived by his mother, Anna Mae King of Lebanon; two daughtes, Rhonda (Ron) Rudd and Angela Alting, both of Frankfort; two sons, Cody (Dove) King and Dean King, both of Chandler, Ariz.; one brother, Mark A. King of Frankfort; one sister, Rosalind M. King of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren, Ariel Rudd, Olivia Rudd, Isaac Rudd, Christopher Moore, Brandy Poole, Savanna Powers, Kalee King; and three great-grandchildren, Rowan, Raven and Bailey.

He was preceded in death by his father and a great-grandchild, Lily.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 15 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Kirklin. Memorial donations may be made to the Kirklin American Legion, or Scotland Christian Church, envelopes will be available.
