Jackie 'Jack' L. Steele Dec. 25, 1932 - March 23, 2019

Jackie “Jack” L. Steele, 86, of Ladoga, passed away at Franciscan Health Hospital in Crawfordsville, on March 23, 2019 just 15 hours after his beloved daughter-in-law Marie Steele passed. He was born on Dec. 25, 1932 in Colfax to the late William Earnest and Mary Evelyn (Maiden) Steele. On Aug. 10, 1957 he married Darlene (Auman) Steele in Linden.

Jack was a veteran, serving in the United States Airforce. He began working for Kenny Vice Ford in Sales for 15 years. Jack then worked many years for TDS until retiring in 2002. He was a member of Ladoga Baptist Church. His hobbies include junking, woodworking, a big helper to many, building houses, working with his hands, taking and mentoring many kids on his golf cart. He was a member of the Ladoga Baptist Church.

Jackie is survived by his wife Darlene Steele of Ladoga; children, Marilyn Webb of Warsaw, Donald Steele of Ladoga, Jackie Steele of Ladoga and Donna (Mike) Davis of Ladoga; grandchildren, Jeff, Jon and Jason Hollan, Shane, Kyle, and Tyler (Katie) Davis and Tanikka Sparks; 11 great-grandchildren, Maggie Hollan, Carson Hollan, Karson and Levi Davis and one great great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Nancy Steele, Colfax.

He was preceded in death by; his parents; two brothers; James (Jean) Steele, Robert Steele; and sister, Mag (Max) Harshbarger.

Funeral Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at the Ladoga Baptist Church, 751 North Cherry Street, Ladoga 47954 with Pastor Tyler Davis officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. the day of the service. Burial will follow at Stoner Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts be given to his great grandsons’ Karson and Levi for their education.
