Prairie is 4th of 8 in girls golf

Clinton Prairie girls golf finished fourth out of eight teams at Tuesday’s Rensselaer Central Invitational in the Gophers’ first competitive action of the season.

Senior Emma Price carded a 104 to lead Prairie, with senior Porter Kelley (121), sophomore Tatum Nash (122) and senior Abby Price (132) completing the team score of 475. Sophomore Abby Price shot a 132, which wasn’t included in the team total. Nash and Price played in their first 18-hole event. 

Lowell won the invite with a 378. They were followed by Kankakee Valley (387), North Newton (408) and Prairie. Rensselaer Central, South Newton, Tri County and Hanover Central completed the field. 

The Gophers next host Clinton Central and Western Boone at Deer Track Golf Course starting at 4:45 p.m. today.
