Volleyball sectional draws set

The draw for the 48th Annual IHSAA Volleyball State Tournament was held on Sunday.

Clinton Prairie will once again host Class 2A Sectional 37. The Gophers (10-15) will play Carroll (21-4) in the first game at 7 p.m Tuesday with Rossville (10-15) facing Seeger (17-8) in the first match on Oct.. 17 at 6 p.m. Lewis Cass (6-18) and Fountain Central (7-17) match up in the second match that night.

The Prairie-Carroll winner will face Delphi (6-16) in one semifinal at 11 a.m. on Oct. 19 with the winners of the two Thursday matches playing in the other afterward. The championship would be that evening at 7 p.m.

Frankfort hosts Class 3A Sectional 20 this year with the Hot Dogs (12-11) playing West Lafayette (17-6) in the first game at 6 p.m. Oct. 17 and North Montgomery (4-22) and Benton Central (24-5) facing off in the second game that night. The Frankfort-West Lafayette winner will play Crawfordsville (14-11) in one semifinal at 11 a.m. Oct. 19 with Twin Lakes (5-17) facing the North Montgomery-Benton Central victor. The championship would be that evening at 6 p.m.

Clinton Central (2-18) faces South Newton (22-6) in the first match of Class 1A Sectional 53 at Tri-County on Oct. 17 at 6 p.m. North White (13-8) plays Frontier (7-17) in the second match that evening. The Central-South Newton winner will face Faith Christian (7-10) in the first semifinal at 11 a.m. Oct. 19 with Tri-County (1-20) playing the winner of the other Oct. 17 match. The championship would be at 7 p.m. that evening.

CCEF selling hog raffle tickets

The Clinton Central Education Foundation will continue to sell raffle tickets at their final two home games (Oct. 11, Delphi) and Oct. 18, Tri-Central) for the chance to win half a hog processed to the winner’s specifications.

The drawing date will be during the Tri-Central game with one ticket available for $10 or three for $20 with proceeds to benefit the local education foundation. Ostler Farms Inc. donated the hog for the fundraiser. 

The winner does not need to be present at the Oct. 18 game to win. Those unable to attend the games can contact Clinton Central High School at (765) 249-2255 or any Clinton Central Education board member for more information.
