Rossville tops Eagles 48-19

Rossville evened its record in girls basketball with a 48-19 win at Faith Christian on Thursday.

Madison Miller, who missed the Hornets’ opener due to injury, returned to lead Rossville in scoring with 12 points. Michelle Rodkey added 11, with Emma Lawson (six), Jayla Rosen (five), Sammie Malson and Alyssa Redding (four each) and Marley Roberts, Adelyn Root and Kennedy Houser (two each) also scoring.

Rodkey led the team with 12 rebounds, while Malson had 11 steals.

The Hornets (1-1) next visit Western Boone at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Bulldogs roll over Frontier in opener

Clinton Central opened the girls basketball season with a 53-30 win at Frontier. 

Jessica Akard led the Bulldogs with 15 points. Allison Robbins (13) and Kendall Davison (10) also reached double figures. Hannah McQuinn (seven), Addison Sheets (six) and Katie McQuinn (two) also scored.

Davison and Katie McQuinn each had seven rebounds, while Davison had seven steals and Akard five. 

The Bulldogs next host Fountain Central at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
