Aim Homemakers meet
Aim Homemakers Club met Nov. 18, 2019 in the home of Carol McNelly.
Those answering roll call were President Sharon Albaugh, Dena Barkley, Randi Chambers, Omia Jean Donoho, Della Logan, McNelly, Ginny Miller, Ariana Ruiz, Shirley Scott, Patsy Hughes and guest Amalia Ruiz.
The Pledge, Creed and Mission Statement was recited by all. Minutes of last meeting was read and approved, and the Treasurer report given.
McNelley gave Devotion “Quiet Down,” meaning slow down and live.
President Albaugh reported that we will be participating in the Christmas parade. Also, that we need cookies for Santa House. Those volunteering are Logan, Ruiz, McNelly and Hughes. Will also be needing cookies from each member attending our Christmas project on Dec. 3 and will later be attending dinner.
McNelly gave a lesson on decorating cupcakes. She furnished home-baked cupcakes, utensils and various colored icings, and each member decorated two cupcakes and then devoured them.
Meeting closed. Gifts were won by Chambers, Miller and Scott.
FHS Class of ’56 meets
The FHS Class of 1956 held their monthly meeting Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2019, at The King Pancake House.
All were advised of the passing of Dr. Ron Waddell and Vada (Fish) Seabolt.
Twelve classmates, spouses and friends attended, enjoying a great meal and good conversation. Those attending were Sally and Dick Ham, Phil and Millie Stoops, Larry Montgomery, Howard Snodgrass, Wilbur Lucas, Bill and Jenny Mohler, Jess Neff, Butch Huffer, and Pat Linn.
Fellow Classmates are urged to attend the next meeting, Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019, at 6:30 p.m. at Arni’s in Frankfort. Classmates of other years, spouses and friends are WELCOME. Questions? Call Pat at 654-9878.
Owen Union Extension Homemakers meet
Owen Union Extension Homemakers met in November at the home of Marilyn Dunk.
President Janet Dorsey opened the meeting by reading “Autumn and Art” and the thought of the month, “A great son should lift your heart, warm the soul and make you feel good.”
All repeated the pledges, club creed and mission statement.
Barbara Milnes gave devotions entitled “Their Mysterious Ways” and “Thankful For Each Day.”
We sang with gusto the song of the month “Come Ye Thankful People Come.”
A fall maintenance checklist was passed to the members with reminders of chores needed to prepare our homes for winter.
Kathy Michael and Kathy Uhrin will furnish cookies for the Santa house in December.
We discussed a project for next year for the Parkview Home and Janet Dorsey reported on the County Past Presidents’ meeting.
Coins for Friendship were collected, and the meeting closed with the club prayer.
Kathy Uhrin gave the lesson “Living with Arthritis.”
