Deputy Tillman arrived on the scene of a personal injury crash involving two motorcycles Sunday on Ind. 26 at Co. Road 100 E. as it was being dispatched. Tillman immediately administered life-saving first aid to the crash victims. DNR Conservation Officer McCauley arrived a short time after and assisted with the life-saving measures as well.
Preliminary investigations indicate a group of motorcycles were traveling together eastbound on Ind. 26 and were slowing to turn northbound on Co. Road 100 E. The female motorcycle operator did not effectively brake and rear-ended the motorcycle in front of her, which was rode by her husband. Both motorcyclists were ejected from their vehicles.
The male was transported to a Lafayette Hospital by ambulance and, at last report, was in stable condition. The female was flown by Lifeline to an Illinois hospital, and her condition was unknown at the time of the report. The couple is from Peru, Indiana.
Tillman was assisted on scene by McCauley, Deputy Light and Lieutenant Ashlock from the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office. Deputy Pelling, Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, reconstructed the crash. Also assisting on scene was Clinton County EMS, Rossville Volunteer Ambulance and Fire Service and the Indiana State Police.
