Fatal Crash PHOTO 1

This blue 2017 Subaru Impreza came to rest in a field after leaving the road and rolling several times in a fatal crash Sunday morning in Boyleston.

Deputies from the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to what proved to be a fatal crash that had occurred at approximately 8:44 a.m. Sunday in Boyleston on Ind. 29, north of Ind. 28.

Preliminary investigation indicates that some time in the early morning hours of Sunday, Dec. 26, 2021, a Blue 2017 Subaru Impreza operated by Jesus Ignacio Gil-Guijosa, 18, of Frankfort, was traveling southbound Ind. 29.

As the vehicle entered Boyleston, it ramped the railroad tracks at a high rate of speed. The vehicle then slid into the east ditch, going airborne over a driveway. The vehicle proceeded to roll several times, ejecting the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

Gil-Guijosa was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Clinton County Coroner. Family has been notified.

Clinton County Deputies were assisted on scene by Clinton County EMS, the Clinton County Coroner’s Office, and the Michigantown Volunteer Fire Department.

“Our prayers go out to this young man’s family and friends,” Clinton County Sheriff Rich Kelly said. “Weather conditions and speed were causation factors to this tragic event. Our Chaplains’ services are available to those who need them.”
