Former clerk-treasurer Judy Sheets was sworn-in on Saturday at Old Stoney as Frankfort mayor, just one week after being voted-in by a Republican caucus. At 12:01 p.m. Monday, she officially began work as the city’s newest mayor.
“It has been a whirlwind of a week,” Sheets said just a couple hours after becoming mayor. “I am so excited and can’t wait to hit the ground running. I have already started meetings for the day and intend to have them probably until 8 p.m. tonight. So, I am really excited to serve the citizens of Frankfort. I want them to know that they can trust me and they can believe in me because I am here for them. And I love the city of Frankfort.”
