A 13-year-old boy was flown to Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis after being shot in the “lower facial area” Tuesday morning in Frankfort. The juvenile underwent surgery at the hospital and is expected to survive.

At approximately 10:20 a.m., Frankfort Police Department officers and EMS personnel were dispatched to the 300 block of W. Green St. for a report of a male juvenile that ran to the residence with a gunshot wound the lower facial area. Officers determined the incident took place in a residence in the 900 block of N. John St. where a handgun was retrieved by officers.
