For the first time since 2012, the Frankfort girls soccer team won its Lady Hot Dog Invitational on Saturday at Frankfort High School. After defeating county rival Rossville, 13-0, in the first round, the Hot Dogs earned a 4-2 win over the Tri-Central Trojans in the championships game.
Liz Cruz Sandoval scored four goals in the first-round, shutout win over the Hornets. Ari Regalado and Meli Alanis scored two goals apiece in the match while freshman Nataly Cruz also found the back of the net for Frankfort. Kenya Garcia, Jazmine Longoria, Stephanie Aguilar and Karina Mora Santos each scored their first goal of the season in the lopsided win. Sandoval, Cruz and Aguilar each recoded an assist, and Jessie Ramos had three saves between the posts for the Hot Dogs.
