To secure its place in Saturday night’s sectional championship game, the Clinton Prairie girls basketball team first had to find a solution for the Class 2A No. 4 Knights of Central Catholic. The Gophers beat the Knights, 46-41, in Friday night’s semifinal round at Fountain Central High School.
While Central Catholic had proven to be a thorn in the side of the Gophers in the past, sending Clinton Prairie home early last season during tournament play, head coach Amie Anthrop showed pride in her team’s ability to put together a complete game.
