Clinton Central’s 200-medley relay team broke a school record and the Bulldogs’ Erik McCarty qualified for today’s Zionsville boys sectional finals in both events he swam at Thursday’s sectional preliminaries, while teammate Colton Payne did so in the 100 backstroke and Frankfort’s Tyler Harness in the 500 free.
“We did great,” Central head coach Ken Jones said. “You never know how it’s going to happen. You work really hard and put them through the ringer and you do your taper and hope that the taper is going to work out. The taper worked out great. I don’t know how many time drops we had, but just about everybody across the board had time drops tonight.”
